Very good chocolates .. the best and friendly
I've been a customer at Café Huber for decades. The selection of pralines and chocolate figurines (which I like to give away for Christmas) is huge, and the quality is simply unbeatable! The homemade gingerbread cookies are also highly recommended!
Closed on Mondays, Tuesdays. Delicious delicacies. Chocolates, stollen, gingerbread, you don't want to eat anything else. Quality. The finest. There is also an online shop.
Always tasty and a good selection
Very fine, delicious cakes and friendly service in a cozy cafe in the beautiful old town of Engen! Always happy.
The finest pastry shop. Delicious artistic cakes. The best pralines: are a dream. It is nice that this noble craft is still practiced by a family with joy, heart and skill.
Cakes and pies are great and very tasty, unfortunately the ambience is getting on in years ... With a new coat of paint the visit would be more pleasant :)
We always like to come back there and get cakes, tarts and sometimes chocolates. It's just amazing !!! Super delicious, very friendly people and the cakes are awesome. Great quality and price justified. We love to come there. I can recommend it to everyone !!!!
By far the best cafe in Engen! In addition to handmade, extraordinary chocolates and fantastic own creations in the cake segment, there is homemade ice cream in summer and the best hot chocolate ever in winter :-) If you want to visit a special cafe with exceptional quality (which is second to none) in Engen, this is definitely the right place! One comment on all the "price naggers" out there: Quality surprisingly has its price, especially when everything is homemade and not mass produced. The products are well worth it and should be appreciated that way! If you can't do that, it is best to buy your cake in the freezer and your coffee in the refrigerated shelf from cheap discounters.
Very tasty, homemade ice cream, friendly, careful service - and of course a cafe like a painting. Cakes, tarts and chocolates are all made in-house - now in the 3rd generation - and I've come to all generations. Great location in the old town of Engen, nice seating in front of the cafe in Sammlungsgasse - and from the cafe a great view of Engen, down from the old town. Highly recommended, both for refreshment stops and for cakes, pies or chocolates - you have to look for such quality long and hard.
Nice, quaint cafe that has been a family business for generations. The best chocolates! A must if you want something special. Here you pay for very good quality and even the biscuit on the ice is homemade. My favorite will always be the cinnamon ice cream. I look forward to the next visit!
The cakes were delicious, as were cappuccino. Service friendly and the toilets very clean. Just the price a little too high in my opinion ....
Café Huber always happy! The café is located in the most idyllic street in Engen. The cakes are delicious. Often with ingredients from local orchards, make the enjoyment a "wow experience".
For the location I would have given 5 *, but I feel it is a deliberate "Turifalle" to set up a display with separate "To go" prices. When asked why the price for two iced coffees at the table is suddenly 1/3 more expensive? I got an unkind answer. ... "You just have to read the card on the table" ... In my opinion, there is still potential for development in terms of corporate philosophy.
There are always great delicacies. In summer you can enjoy fabulous ice cream, in autumn and winter special pralines. Everything is handcrafted and made with a lot of love, the service is just as inviting as the outdoor seating area in the middle of the old town of Engen. There is nothing to complain about, absolute recommendation!
Very friendly and everything tastes delicious.
At the weekend we went to Café Huber because of the good reviews of the cakes. I opted for a pear and chocolate cake that was excellent in taste and appearance. However, after eating half of the cake, I found that there were very small pieces of metal on the edge of the cake and on top of it. I have shown this to the waitress. The answer was that she passed it on to the boss and I didn't have to pay for the piece of cake. A few minutes later she came to the table and said that cutting with an unsuitable knife caused the metal debris to come out of the baking pan onto the cake. "You learn from experience" is the next sentence. All in all a disappointment. First, I would have expected a real excuse for it and, secondly, that I would get another piece of cake as a replacement. So I didn't have to pay for the piece of cake, but I went home hungry and was actually looking forward to enjoying a cake. This action by the pastry chef / waitress is not worthy of this café for me and is a great disappointment. Something like that can happen but then it has to be communicated differently to me as a customer.
The caramel nut cup had a proud price of € 8.60 but was very tasty. Inside, the cafe has the charm of yesteryear. In the back of the cafe you have a nice view. The stairs to the toilet are very steep due to the slope.
Cute little quaint cafe with homemade cakes and chocolates. High quality, prices justified. One has the feeling, the staff is with heart and soul. Gladly again. Card payment possible.
Great location and good personal.
Like in the old days ? set back but everything is clean and good.
So expensive! You pay 4,20€ for a small piece of cake. A sundae for 8€!!! I ate self made ice cream. It tasted so boring! If you go to Engen, skip this coffee shop and buy yourself some scoops of ice cream somewhere else.
Nice Café, typical southern german coziness, bit pricey but good quality.
This is s very traditional Coffeehouse (Cafe - Konditorei) which is quite well known beyond the small town of Engen for their excellent chocolate cookies (Pralinen). If you like Godiva, Valrhona and Jaques Torres chocolate and find them hard to come by in Germany, don't worry and try these - they are actually better, since they only make them fresh and in very small batches, and only during the cool months of the year. The cafe itself is also quite beautiful, albeit very small and simple - but it has a wonderful view of the surroundings, as Engen is a Hilltop town. Highly recommended!
